13.  ¾ß°öÀÌ °Å±â¼­ ¹ãÀ» Áö³»°í ±× ¼ÒÀ¯ Áß¿¡¼­ Çü ¿¡¼­¸¦ À§ÇÏ¿© ¿¹¹°À» ÅÃÇÏ´Ï
     He spent the night there, and fromf what he had with him he selected a gift for his brother Easu:
14.  ¾Ï¿°¼Ò°¡ À̹éÀÌ¿ä ¼ý¿°¼Ò°¡ À̽ÊÀÌ¿ä ¾Ï¾çÀÌ À̹éÀÌ¿ä ¼Ú¾çÀÌ À̽ÊÀÌ¿ä
     two hundred female goats and twenty male goats, two hundred ewes and twenty rams,
15.  Á¥ ³ª´Â ³«Å¸ »ï½Ê°ú ±× »õ³¢¿ä ¾Ï¼Ò°¡ »ç½ÊÀÌ¿ä Ȳ¼Ò°¡ ¿­ÀÌ¿ä ¾Ï³ª±Í°¡ À̽ÊÀÌ¿ä ±× »õ³¢ ³ª±Í°¡ ¿­À̶ó
     thirty female camels with their young, forty cows and ten bulls, and twenty female donkeys and ten male donkeys.
16.  ±×°ÍÀ» °¢°¢ ¶¼·Î ³ª´©¾î Á¾µéÀÇ ¼Õ¿¡ ¸Ã±â°í ±×ÀÇ Á¾¿¡°Ô À̸£µÇ ³ªº¸´Ù ¾Õ¼­ °Ç³Ê°¡¼­ °¢ ¶¼·Î °Å¸®¸¦ µÎ°Ô Ç϶ó ÇÏ°í
     He put them in the care of his servants, each herd by itself, and said to his servants,  "Go ahead of me, and keep some space between the herds."
17.  ±×°¡ ¶Ç ¾Õ¼± ÀÚ¿¡°Ô ¸í·ÉÇÏ¿© À̸£µÇ ³» Çü ¿¡¼­°¡ ³Ê¸¦ ¸¸³ª ¹¯±â¸¦ ³×°¡ ´©±¸ÀÇ »ç¶÷ÀÌ¸ç ¾îµð·Î °¡´À³Ä ³× ¾ÕÀÇ °ÍÀº ´©±¸ÀÇ °ÍÀÌ³Ä Çϰŵç
     He instructed the one in the lear:  "When my brother Esau meets you and asks, 'To whom do you belong, and where are you going, and who owns all thses animals in front of you?"
18.  ´ë´äÇϱ⸦ ÁÖÀÇ Á¾ ¾ß°öÀÇ °ÍÀÌ¿ä ÀÚ±â ÁÖ ¿¡¼­¿¡°Ô·Î º¸³»´Â ¿¹¹°ÀÌ¿À¸ç ¾ß°öµµ ¿ì¸® µÚ¿¡ ÀÖ³ªÀÌ´Ù Ç϶ó ÇÏ°í
     then you are to say, 'They belong to your servant Jacob. They are a gift sent to my lord Esau, and he is coming behind us.' "
19.  ±× µÑ°¿Í ¼Â°¿Í °¢ ¶¼¸¦ µû¶ó°¡´Â ÀÚ¿¡°Ô ¸í·ÉÇÏ¿© À̸£µÇ ³ÊÈñµµ ¿¡¼­¸¦ ¸¸³ª°Åµç °ð ÀÌ°°ÀÌ ±×¿¡°Ô ¸»ÇÏ°í
     He also instructed the second, the third and all the others who followed the herds:  "You meet him.
20.  ¶Ç ³ÊÈñ´Â ¸»Çϱ⸦ ÁÖÀÇ Á¾ ¾ß°öÀÌ ¿ì¸® µÚ¿¡ ÀÖ´Ù Ç϶ó ÇÏ´Ï ÀÌ´Â ¾ß°öÀÌ ¸»Çϱ⸦ ³»°¡ ³» ¾Õ¿¡ º¸³»´Â ¿¹¹°·Î ÇüÀÇ °¨Á¤À» Ǭ ÈÄ¿¡ ´ë¸éÇϸé ÇüÀÌ È¤½Ã ³ª¸¦ ¹Þ¾Æ ÁÖ¸®¶ó ÇÔÀ̾ú´õ¶ó
     And be sure to say,   'Your servant Jacob is coming behind us.'  "  For he thought,   " I will pacify him with these gifts I am sending on ahead; later,  when I see him, perhaps he will receive me."
21.  ±× ¿¹¹°Àº ±×¿¡ ¾Õ¼­ º¸³»°í ±×´Â ¹«¸® °¡¿îµ¥¼­ ¹ãÀ» Áö³»´Ù°¡
     So Jacob's gifts went on ahead of him, but he himself spent the night in the camp.
22.  ¹ã¿¡ ÀϾ µÎ ¾Æ³»¿Í µÎ ¿©Á¾°ú ¿­ÇÑ ¾ÆµéÀ» ÀεµÇÏ¿© ¾åº¹ ³ª·ç¸¦ °Ç³Î»õ
     That night Jacob got up and took his two wives, his two maidservants and his eleven sons and crossed the ford of the Jabbok.
23.  ±×µéÀ» ÀεµÇÏ¿© ½Ã³»¸¦ °Ç³Ê°¡°Ô ÇÏ¸ç ±×ÀÇ ¼ÒÀ¯µµ °Ç³Ê°¡°Ô ÇÏ°í
     After he had sent them across the stream, he sent over all his possessions.
24.  ¾ß°öÀÌ È¦·Î ³²¾Ò´õ´Ï ¾î¶² »ç¶÷ÀÌ ³¯ÀÌ »õµµ·Ï ¾ß°ö°ú ¾¾¸§ÇÏ´Ù°¡
     So Jacob was left alond, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak.
25.  ÀڱⰡ ¾ß°öÀ» À̱âÁö ¸øÇÔÀ» º¸°í ±×°¡ ¾ß°öÀÇ Çã¹÷Áö °üÀýÀ» Ä¡¸Å ¾ß°öÀÇ Çã¹÷Áö °üÀýÀÌ ±× »ç¶÷°ú ¾¾¸§ÇÒ ¶§¿¡ ¾î±ß³µ´õ¶ó
     When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob's hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man.
26.  ±×°¡ À̸£µÇ ³¯ÀÌ »õ·ÁÇÏ´Ï ³ª·Î °¡°Ô Ç϶ó ¾ß°öÀÌ À̸£µÇ ´ç½ÅÀÌ ³×°Ô ÃູÇÏÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ¸é °¡°Ô ÇÏÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ°Ú³ªÀÌ´Ù
      Then the man said,  " Let me go, for it is daybreak."  But Jacob replied,  "I will not let you go unless you bless me."
27.  ±× »ç¶÷ÀÌ ±×¿¡°Ô À̸£µÇ ³× À̸§ÀÌ ¹«¾ùÀÌ³Ä ±×°¡ À̸£µÇ ¾ß°öÀÌ´ÏÀÌ´Ù
     The man asked him,  "What is your name?"   "Jacob,"  answered.
28.  ±×°¡ À̸£µÇ ³× À̸§À» ´Ù½Ã´Â ¾ß°öÀ̶ó ºÎ¸¦ °ÍÀÌ ¾Æ´Ï¿ä À̽º¶ó¿¤À̶ó ºÎ¸¦ °ÍÀÌ´Ï ÀÌ´Â ³×°¡ Çϳª´Ô°ú ¹× »ç¶÷µé°ú °Ü·ç¾î ÀÌ°åÀ½À̴϶ó
     Then the mand said,  "Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel,  because you have strkuggled with God and with men and have overcome."
29.  ¾ß°öÀÌ Ã»ÇÏ¿© À̸£µÇ ´ç½ÅÀÇ À̸§À» ¾Ë·ÁÁÖ¼Ò¼­ ±×»ç¶÷ÀÌ À̸£µÇ ¾îÂîÇÏ¿© ³» À̸§À» ¹¯´À³Ä ÇÏ°í °Å±â¼­ ¾ß°ö¿¡°Ô ÃູÇÑÁö¶ó
     Jacob said,  "Please tell me your name."  But he replied,  "Why do you ask my name?"  Then he blessed him there.
30.  ±×·¯¹Ç·Î ¾ß°öÀÌ ±× °÷ À̸§À» ºê´Ï¿¤À̶ó ÇÏ¿´À¸´Ï ±×°¡ À̸£±â¸¦ ³»°¡ Çϳª´Ô°ú ´ë¸éÇÏ¿© º¸¾ÒÀ¸³ª ³» »ý¸íÀÌ º¸ÀüµÇ¾ú´Ù ÇÔÀÌ´õ¶ó
     So Jacob called the place Peniel,  saying,  "It is because I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared."
31.  ±×°¡ ºê´Ï¿¤À» Áö³¯ ¶§¿¡ ÇØ°¡ µ¸¾Ò°í ±×ÀÇ Çã¹÷´Ù¸®·Î ¸»¹Ì¾Ï¾Æ Àý¾ú´õ¶ó
     The sun rose above him as he passed Peniel, and he was limping because of his hip.
32.  ±× »ç¶÷ÀÌ ¾ß°öÀÇ Çã¹÷Áö °üÀý¿¡ ÀÖ´Â µÐºÎÀÇ ÈûÁÙÀ» ÃÆÀ¸¹Ç·Î À̽º¶ó¿¨ »ç¶÷µéÀÌ Áö±Ý±îÁö Çã¹÷Áö °üÀý¿¡ ÀÖ´Â µÐºÎÀÇ ÈûÁÙÀ» ¸ÔÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ´õ¶ó
     Therefore to this day the Israelites do not eat the tendon attached to the socket of the hip,  because the socket of Jacob's hip wa touched near the tendon.
