2."Doubtless you are the people,
and wisdom will die with you!
3.But I have a mind as well as you;
I am not inferior to you.
Who does know all these things?
4."I have become a laughingstock to my friends,
though I called upon God and he answered-
a mere laughingstock, though righteous and blameless!
5.Men at ease have comtempt for misfortune
as the fate of those whose feet are slipping.
6.The tents of marauders are undisturbed,
and those who provoke God are secure-
those who carry their god in their hands.
7."But ask the animals, and they will teach you,
or the birds of the air, and they will tell you;
8.or speak to the earth, and it will teach you,
or let the fish of the sea inform you.
9.Which of all these does not know
that the hand of the Lord has done this?
10.In his hand is the life of every creature
and the breath of all mankind.
11.Does not the ear test words
as the tongue tastes food?
12.Is not wisdom found among the aged?
Does not long life bring understanding?
13."To God belong wisdom and power;
counsel and understanding are his.
14.What he tears down cannot be rebuilt;
the man he imprisons cannot be released.
15.If he holds back the waters, there is drought;
if he lets them loose, they devastate the land.
16.To him belong strength and victory;
both deceive and deceiver are his.
17.He leads counselors away stipped and makes fools of judges.
18.He takes off the shakels put on by kings
and ties a loincloth around their waist.
19.He sildence the lips of trusted advisers
and takes away the discernment of elders.
21.He pours contempt on nobles
and disarms the mighty.
22.He reveals the deep things of darkness
and brinngs deep shadows into the light.
23.He makes nations great, and destroys them;
he enlarges nations, and disperses them.
24.He deprives the leaders of the earth of their reason;
he sends them wanderings through a tackless waste.
25.They grope in darkness with no light;
he makes them stagger like drunkards.
1.그러자 욥이 대답했습니다.
2."참으로 자네들은 모든것을 다 알고 있는가?
자네들이 죽으면, 지혜도 없어지겠군.
3.하지만 나에게도
자네들 만큼의 생각은 있다네.
내가 자네들 보다 못한 게 무엇이 있나?
그정도도 모르는 사람이 세상에 어디 있나?
4.내가 내 친구들의 조롱거리가 되었구나.
하나님과 긴밀하게 교제했던 내가 이제는 웃음거리가 되었구나.
5.편안하게 사는 사람은 재앙을 경멸하지.
그러나 그 발이 견고치 못한 사람에게는
재앙이 덥치지.
6.강도들의 집은 형통하고, 하나님을 분노케 하는 자들은
평안하기 때문에 저들은 하나님을
자기 멋대로 주무른다고 생각하지.
7.이제 들짐승들에게 물어 보게.
그것들이 자네들에게 가르쳐줄테니.
공중의 새들에게 물어보게.
그것들이 자네들에게 말해 줄 걸세.
8.땅에게 물으면 땅이 가르쳐 주고
바다의 고기들도 일러 줄 것이네.
9.내게 닥친 재앙이
여호와께서 행하신 것인 줄을
그 어떤 것이 알지 못하겠나?
10.모든 숨쉬는 생물의 생명과 인생의 호흡이
그분의 손에 달려 있지 않은가?
11.귀가 들리는 말을 판단하고,
혀가 음식 맛을 분별하지 않던가?
12.나이 든 사람에게 지혜가 있고,
노인에게 총명이 있네.
13.그러나 참된 지혜와 권능은 하나님께 있고,
모략과 총명도 그분께 있지.
14.보게나,
그분이 헐면 다시 세울 수 없고,
그분이 사람을 잡아 가두면
풀어 줄 자가 없다네.
15.만약 그분이 비를 내려 주시지 않으면,
땅이 마르고 말 걸세.
그러나 큰비를 일으키면 세상에 홍수가 나게 되지.
16.힘과 슬기가 그분에게 있고,
속는 자나 속이는 자나 모두
그분의 능력 아래 있네.
17.그분은
모략가를 맨발로 걷게 하시고,
판사들을 바보로 만드시기도 한다네.
18.왕들이 묶은 것을 풀어 버리고,,
왕들의 허리를 끈으로 묶으시며,
19.제사장들을 맨발로 걷게 하시고,
힘 있는 자들도
단번에 넘어뜨리세네.
20.그분은 신실한 자들의 입을
막아 버리기도 하시고,
노인의 총명을
뺏앗아 버리기도 하시네.
21.귀족들을 멸시하고,
장군의 무기도 풀어 버리시며,
22.어둠에 숨은
깊은 비밀을 드러내시고,
흑암까지도 밝게 드러내신다네.
23.그분은 나라들을 흥하게도 하시고,
쇠하게도 하시며
민족들을 넓히기도 하시고,
흩어 버리기도 하시네.
24.그분은
이 세상 지도자들의
총명을 빼앗고,
길도 없는 광야에서
방황하게도 하신다네.
25.그분은 저들을
한줄기 빛도 없는
흑암에서 헤매며
술 취한 자처럼
비틀거리게 만드신다네."
