1.그러자 욥이 이렇게 대답했습니다.
2."언제까지 나를 괴롭히고, 말로 나를 박살내려는가?
3.자네들은 열 번이라도 나를 모욕하고도, 잘못한 일을 부끄러워하지 않는군.
4.설령 내 잘못이라 해도 그것이 자네들과 무슨 상관이란 말인가?
5.자네들이 나를 억누르고, 스스로 뽐내며. 나를 수치스럽게 만든다해도,
6.나를 이렇게 만들고 그물로 덮어 씌우신 분은 하나님이시네.
7.내가 '폭력이야!' 하고 외치지만 아무런 대답이 없고,
부르짖어 도움을 구하지만, 그 곳에 정의는 없구나.
8.그분이 내 길을 막고 지나가지 못하게 하시며,
내 길을 어둠으로 가리셨구나.
9.나에게서 영광을 가져가시고,
내 머리의 면류관을 벗기셨구나.
10.그가 사방에서 나를 치시니
내가 죽게 되었고 나무를 뽑듯
내 희망을 뽑아버리시는구나.
11.내게 화를 내시고,
나를 마치 원수 대하듯이 하시며,
12.그의 군대를 내게 보내시니
그들이 내 집 주변을 둘러쌌구나.
13.그분이 내 형제들을
내게서 멀리 떠나게 하시니
내가 아는 사람들이 모두 낯설게 되었구나.
14.내 친척들이 나를 외면하고,
내 친구들 역시 나를 잊어 버렸구나.
15.내 집에 사는 사람들이나 여종들도 나를 모른 체하고,
낯선 사람처럼 대하는구나.
16.내 종을 불러도 대꾸조차 하지 않으니
내가 사정을 해도 소용이 없구나.
17.아내마저도
내 숨기운을 싫어하고,
내 형제들도 애 옆에 오기를 삻어하며,
18.심지어 어린이들까지 나를 멸시하고,
내가 일어서면 나를 놀리는구나.
19.내 모든 친구들이 나를 거부하고,
내가 사랑하는 자들도 등을 돌리는구나.
20.뼈와 가죽만 남긴 채
잇몸으로 겨우 살아가는 내 신세야.
21.나의 친구들이여,
제발, 제발, 나를 불쌍히 여겨다오.
하나님의 손이 나를 치셨다는것을 알아 주게나.
22.왜 자네들마저도 하나님처럼 나를 괴롭히는가?
내 살을 먹고도 만족하지 못하는가?
23.아, 내 말들이 모두 기록된다면,
그것들이 책에 기록된다면,
24.철필이나 납으로 기록하고 바위에 새겨 영원히 남겨진다면,
얼마나 좋겠는가?
25.내 구세주께서 살아 계신다는 것을
내가 이미 알고 있으니,
결국 그가 땅에 서실 것이네.
26.내 가죽이 썩은 후에라도, 이 몸이 썩은 후에라도
내가 하나님을 뵐 것이네.
27.내가 그분을
내 두 눈으로 바라볼 걸세.
내 심장이
기대감으로 두근거리네.
28.자네들은
'문제가 그에게 있으니 어떻게 그를 괴롭힐까?' 하고
이야기하겠지만,
29.칼을 조심하게나.
진노는 칼로 나타나게 되지.
그러면 자네들은
심판이 있다는 것을 알게 될 거야."
1.Then Job replied:
2."How long will you torment me and crush me with words?
3.Ten times now you have reproached me;
shamelessly you attack me.
4.If it is true that I have gone astray,
my error remains my concern alone.
5.If indeed you would exalt yourselves above me
and use my humilation against me,
6.then know that God has wronged me
and drawn his net around me.
7."Though I cry, 'I've been wronged!' I get no response;
though I call for help, there is no justice.
8.He has blocked my way so I cannot pass;
he has shrouded my paths in darkness.
9.He has stripped me of my honor
and removed the crown from my head.
10.He tears me down on every side till I am gone;
he uproots my hope like a tree.
11.His anger burns against me;
he counts me among his enemies.
12.His troops advance in force;
they build a siege ramp against me
and encamp around my tent.
13."He has alienated my brothers from me;
my acquintances are completely estranged from me.
14.My kinsmen have gone away;
my friends have forgotten me.
15.My guests and my maidservants count me a stranger,
they look upon me as an alien.
16.I summon my servant, but he does not answer,
17.My breath is offensive to my wife;
I am loathsome to my own brothers.
18.Even the little boys scorn me;
when I appear, they redicule me.
19.All my intimate friends detest me;
those I love have turned against me.
20.I am nothing but skin and bones;
I have escaped with only the skin of my teeth.
21."Have pity on me, my friends, have pity,
for the hand of God has struck me.
22.Why do you pursue me as God does?
Will you never get enough of my flesh?
23."Oh, that my words were recorded,
that they were written with an iron tool on lead,
or engraved in rock forever!
25.I know that my Redeemer lives,
and that in the end he will stand upon the earth.
26.And after my skin has been destroyed,
yet in my flesh I will see God;
27.I myself will see him
with my own eyes- I, and not another.
How my heart yearns with me!
28."If you say, 'How we will hound him,
since the root of the trouble lies in him,
29.you should fear the sword yourselves;
for wrath will bring punishment by the sword,
and then you will know that there is judgment."
