1.Then Jophar the Naamathite replied:
2.My troubled thoughts prompt me to answer
because I am greatly disturbed.
3.I hear a rebuke that dishonors me, and my understanding inspires me to reply.
4."Surely you know how it has been from of old,
ever since man was placed on the earth,
5.that the mirth of the wicked is brief,
the joy of the godless lasts but a moment.
6.Though his pride reaches to the heavens and his head touches the clouds,
7.he will perish forever, like his own dung; those who hace seen him will say,
'Where is he?'
8.Like a dream he flies away, no more to be found,
banished like a vision of the night.
9.The eye that saw him will not see him again;
his place will look on him no more.
10.His children must make amends to the poor, his own hands must give back his wealth.
11.The youthful vigor that fills his bones will lie with him in the dust.
12."Though evil is sweet in his mouth
and he hides it under his tongue,
13.though he cannot bear to let it go and keeps it in his mouth,
14.yet his food will turn sour in his stomach;
it will become the venom of serpents within him.
15.He will spit out the riches he swallowed;
God will make his stomach vomit them up.
16.He will suck the poison of serpents;
the fangs of an adder will kill him.
17.He will not enjoy the streams,
the rivers flowing with honey and cream.
18.What he toiled for he must give back uneaten;
he will not enjoy the profit from his trading.
19.For he has oppressed the poor and left them destitute;
he has seized houses he did not build.
20."Surely he will have no respite from his craving;
he cannot save himself by his treasure.
21.Nothing is left for him to devour;
his prosperity will not endure.
22.In the midst of his plenty, distress will overtake himl;
the full force of misery will come upon him.
13.When he has filled his belly,
God will vent his burning anger against him
and rain down his blows upon him.
24.Though he flees from an iron wepon,
a bronze- tipped arrow pierces him.
25.He pulls it out of his back,
the gleaming point out of his liver.
Terrors will come over him;
26.total darkness lies in wait for his treasures.
A fire unfanned will consume him and devour what is left in his tent.
27.The heavens will expose his guilt;
the earth will rise up against him.
28.A flood will carry off his house,
rushing waters on the day of God's wrath.
29.Such is the fate God allots the wicked,
the heritage appointed for them by God."
그러자 나아만 사람 소발이 대답했습니다.
2."내 마음이 불만스럽다고. 어서 자네 말에 답변하라고 이야기하네.
3.나를 모욕하는 말을 들으니, 내 총명이 답을 하라고 말하는군.
4.자네도 알겠지만 이 일은 세상의 처음부터 알려진 것일세.
5.악인의 형통은 잠시뿐이라는 것, 경건하지 못한 사람의 기쁨은 아주 잠시뿐이라는 것,
6.비록 그들의 교만이 하늘에 올라 그 머리가 구름에 닿을지라도 말일세.
7.악인은 자기 배설물같이 망하네.
그를 알던 사람은
'그가 지금 어디 있나?' 하고 묻지.
8.하지만 악인도 꿈처럼 지나가고,
사람들은 그를 찾을 수가 없네.
밤중의 환상처럼 허무하게 사라지지.
9.악인을 보았던 사람은 다시 그를 볼 수가 없네.
그 악인이 있던 처소도 그 악인을 다시 알지 못하지.
10.악인의 후손은 가난한 자에게 은혜를 구해야 하고,
그들은 빼앗은 부를 다시 돌려 주어야 하네.
11.악인이 한때 젋었을지라도
결국 먼지 구덩이에 누워야 한다네.
12.그가 악이 달콤해서 자기 혀 밑에 감추고,
13.악이 원하여 없애기 싫어하고 자기 입 속에 숨긴다면,
14.그의 음식이 위 속에서 뱀의 독으로 변할 것이네.
15.악인은 입으로 재산을 삼키겟지만,
하나님께서 그 재물을 토하게 하신다네.
16.악인이 독사의 독을 삼키니,
그는 뱅이 문 것처럼 그 독 때문에 죽게되지.
17.악인은
젖과 꿀이 흐르는 강을 볼 수 없네.
18.얻은 것을 삼키지 못하고 돌려 주어야 하고,
장사로 얻은 이익도 누리지 못하네.
19.그것은 악인이 가난한 사람을 못살게 굴고 모른척 했기 때문이지.
그는 자기가 짖지도 않은 집을 강제로 빼앗았지.
20.악인은 항상 만족할 줄 모르고,
욕심이 가득해서 아무것도 놓지 않으려 하네.
21.악인은 무엇이든지 되는 데로 집어삼키지.
그래서 재산이 남아 있지 못한다네.
22.그러니 풍족함 속에서도 재앙을 당하고 불행하게 되는 것이네.
23.배를 채우려고 하지만, 하나님께서 진노하셔서 그를 치신다네.
24.악인이 철로 된 무기를 피하면,
놋화살이 그를 찌를 것일세.
25.그가 자기 등에서
그 화살을 빼내고 간에서 번쩍이는 촉을 꺼내니,
공포가 그를 사로잡네.
26.캄캄함이 악인의 보물으 덮고, 풀무질도 하지 않은 불꽃이
입을 벌려 그를 삼키고, 그 집에 남은 모든 것을 태울 것일세.
27.하늘이 악인의 죄악을 드러내고,
땅이 그를 고발할 것일세.
28.악인의 가졍 형편은 기울고,
하나님의 진노의 날에 그 재물은 씻겨 가 버린다네.
29.이것이 바로 하나님께서 정하신 악인의 운명이요, 악인의 기업일세."
