1."Why does the Almighty not set times for judgment?
Why must those who know him look in vain for such days?
2.Men move boundary stones;
they pasture flocks they have stolen.
3.They drive away the orphan's donkey
and take the widow's ox in pledge.
4.They thrust the needy from the path
and force all the poor of the land into hiding.
5.Like wild donkeys in the desert,
the poor go about their labor of foraging food;
the wastland provides food for their children.
6.They gather fodder in the fields
and glean in the vineyards of the wicked.
7.Lacking clothes, they spend the night naked;
they have nothing to cover themselves on the cold.
8.They are drenched by mountains rains and hug the rocks for lack of shelter.
9.The fatherless child is snatched from the breast;
the infnat of the poor is seized for a debt.
10.Lacking clothes, they go about naked;
they carry the sheaves, but still go hungry.
11.They crush olives among the terraces;
they tread the winepresses, yet suffer thirst.
12.The groans of the dying rise from the city,
and the souls of the wounded cry out for help.
But God changes no one with wrongdoing.
13."There are thouse who rebel against the light,
who do not know its ways or stay in its paths.
14.When daylight is gone, the murderer rises up and kills the poor and needy;
in the night he steals forth like a thief.
15.The eye of the adulterer watches for dusk;
he thinks, 'No eye will see me,'
and he keeps his face concealed.
16.In the dark, men break into houses,
but by day they shut themselves in;
they want nothing to do with the light.
17.For all of them, deep darkness is their morning;
they make friends with the terrirs of darkness.
18."Yet they are foam on the surface of the water;
their portion of the land is curses,
so that no one goes to the vineyards.
19.As heat and drought snatch away the melted snow,
so the grave snatches away those who have sinned.
20.The womb forgets them,
the worm feasts on them;
evil men are no longer remembered
but are broken like a tree.
21.they prey on the barren and childless woman,
and to the widow show no kindness.
22.But God drags away the mighty by his power;
though they become established, they have no assurance of life.
23.He may let them rest in a feeling of security,
but his eyes are on their ways.
24.For a little while they are exalted, and then they are gone;
they are brought low and gathered up like all others;
they are cut off like heads of grain.
1."어찌하여 전능자께서 심판의 날을 정하지 않으셨을까? 그분을 아는 자들이 어찌 그날을 헛되이 기다리는가?
2.어떤 사람들은 땅을 훔치려고 땅의 경계표를 옮기고,
남의 양 떼를 억지로 빼앗으며,
3.고아들의 나귀를 잡아 가고,
가난한 과부가 빚진 것을 갚을 때까지 소를 잡아두며,
4.가난한 자를 길에서 밀쳐 버리니
그 가난한 자들은 숨기에 바쁘구나.
5.그들은 들나귀처럼 먹을 것을 찾아 헤매며
자녀에게 먹일 음식을 광야에서 찾고 있네.
6.가난한 자들이 남의 밭에서 곡식을 줍고,
악인의 포도원에서 떨어진 것을 주우며,
7.입고 덮을 것이 없어 밤새도록 추위에 떠는구나.
8.산에서 쏟아져 내리는 소나기에 흠뻑 젖으며
바위 밑으로 피하는구나.
9.또 악한 자들이 과부의 자식을
그 어머니의 품에서 빼앗고,
가난한 자의 자식을 빚 때문에 담보물로 잡는구나.
10.악인은 가난한 자의 옷을 저당잡고,
굶주린 자에게서 곡식을 빼앗아 버리는구나.
11.성 안에서 기름을 짜지만
가난한 자들은 맛보지 못하며,
포도주틀을 밟지만
목이 마르는구나.
12.성에서 사람들이 신음하고 병자가 부르짖지만,
하나님은 그들의 신음에 대답하지 않으시는구나.
13.또 어떤 이들은 빛을 거스려 행하는구나.
그 길을 알지도 못하고, 행하지도 않는구나.
14.살인자가 이른 새벽에 일어나서 가난한 자를 죽이고,
저녁에는 도둑 노릇을 하며,
15.간통자는 해가 지기만을 기다리고
'아무도 닐 보지 않아' 하며,
자기 얼굴을 가리는구나.
16.밤에는 남의 집을 침입하고
낮에는 자기 집 문을 잠그니,
빛을 알지 못하여
17.아침과 어둠이 같기 때문에
칠흑 같은 어둠에도 익숙하구나.
18.그렇지만 이런 자들은 물 위의 거품처럼
세상에서 사라지고,
자기들 땅에서 저주를 받아서 아무도 자신들의 포도원에
들어갈 수 없네.
19.가뭄과 더위가 눈을 녹이듯,
죄인이 죄인들을 삼켜 버릴 것이네.
20.아무도 그런 자를 기억하지 못하고
구더기가 그를 파먹게 될 것이네.
악인을 누가 기억이나 하겠나?
21.그런 악인들은
자식이 없는 여인을 괴롭히고,
과부도 불쌍히 여길 줄 모른다네.
22.그렇지만 하나님은 이런 포악자도 끌어 내리시고,
그들이 아무리 높은 위치에 있다 해도
그 생명을 보장하지 않으시지.
23.하나님께서 잠시 저들에게 평안을 허락하시고
도우시는 것처럼 보인다네.
그러나 저들의 길을 주목해 보게.
24.저들이 잠시 높아진 것 같으나
금방 사라지니,
저들은 낮아져서 곡식 이삭처럼 잘린다네.
25.그렇지 않은가?
내 말이 거짖말인가?
내가 헛말을 하는가?"
