1.And Job continued his discourse:
2."As surely as God lives, who has denied me justice,
the Almighty, who has made me taste bitterness of soul,
3.as long as I have life within me,
the breath of God in my nostrils,
4.my lips will not speak wickedness,
and my tongue will utter no deceit.
5.I will never admit you are in the right;
till I die, I will not deny my integrity.
6.I will maintain my righteousness and never let go of it;
my conscience will not reproach me as long as I live.
7."May my enemies be like the wicked,
my adversaries like the unjust!
8.For what hope has the godless when he is cut off,
when God takes away his life?
9.Does God listen to his cry
when distress come upon him?
10.Will he find delight in the Almighty?
Will he call upon God at all times?
11."I will teach you about the power of God;
the ways of the Almighty I will not conceal.
12.You have all seen this yourselves.
Why then this meaningless talk?
13."Here is the fate God allots to the wicked,
the heritage a ruthless man receives from the Almighty:
14.However many his children, their fate is the sword;
his offspring will never have enough to eat.
15.The plague will bury those who survive him,
and their widows will not weep for them.
16.Though the heaps up silver like dust
and clothes like piles of clay,
17.what he lays up the righteous will wear,
and the innocent will divide his silver.
18.The house he builds is like a moth's cocoon,
like a hut made by a watchman.
19.He lies down wealthy, but will do so no more;
when he opens his eyes, all is flood;
a tempest snatches him away in the night.
21.The east wind carries him off, and his is gone;
it sweeps him out of his place.
22.It hurls itself against him without mercy
as he flees headlong from its power.
23.It claps its hands in derision
and hisses him out of his place.
1.욥이 계속해서 이렇게 말했습니다.
2."내 권리를 빼앗아 가신 하나님,
내영혼을 괴롭게 하신 전능자의 살아 계심을 가리켜 맹세하네.
3.내게 생명이 있고 내 코에 하나님의 숨기운이 있는 동안에는,
4.내 두 입술이 결코 악을 말하지 아니하고,
내 혀도 거짓을 말하지 않을 것이네.
5.나는 결코 자네들이 옳다고 인정할 수 없네.
내가 죽더라도 내가 바르다는 생각을 굽히지 않겠네.
6.내가 나의 진실함을 굳게 붙들고 놓지 않을 것이며,
내 양심에 걸리는 것이 없을 걸일세.
7.내 원수는 악인같이, 나를 미워하는 자는 죄인같이
망하게 되기를 원하네.
8.하나님께서 경건하지 못한 자의 생명을 가져가실때,
그에게 무슨 소망이 있을까?
9.그에게 재앙이 임할 때,
하나님께서 그의 부르짐을 들으실까?
10.그는 전능하신 분에게서 기쁨을 찾지고 않았고
하나님께 기도 하지도 않았다네.
11.내가 하나님의 권능을 자네들에게 가르치겠네.
전능자의 하시는 일을 숨기지 않겠네.
12.자네들이 모두 보았으면서 어찌 이렇게 쓸데없는 말만 하는가?
13.악인이 하나님께 받는 벌이 무엇인가?
난폭한 자가 전능자께 받는 것이 무엇이겠나?
14.그 자손이 많다 해도,
모두 칼에 죽고 굶주릴 것일세.
15.남는 자가 있다 해도,
저들은 염병에 죽어 묻히고,
그들의 아내조차도 그들의 죽음을 슬퍼하지 않을 것이네.
16.비록 악인이 은을 태산같이, 의복을 산더미같이 쌓는다 해도
17.의인들이 그 옷을 입고,
죄 없는 사람들이 그 은을 나눠 가질 것이네.
18.악인이 짓는 집은 거미줄같이 망가지기 쉽고,
초막같이 보잘것 없다네.
19.악인이 부자인 채 잠을 잔다 해도, 눈을 뜨면 온 재산이
모두 날아가 버렸을 것일세.
20.공포가 홍수처럼 그를 덮치고,
밤중에 폭풍이 그를 날려 버리지.
21.동풍이 악인을 휩쓸어 가고,
그의 집에서 흔적도 없이 쓸어 갈 것일세.
22.악인이 제아무리 몸부림쳐도 태풍이 그를 덮치니,
23.사람들이 그를 보고 박수치고 조롱하며,
악인을 집에서 쫒아 내 버릴 것이네."
