1."이제 욥 어르신, 내가 하는 말에 귀를 귀울여 주십시오.
2.내가 입을 여니, 혀가 움직이는군요.
3.나는 양심대로 말하며, 내 혀는 항상 진실만을 말합니다.
4.하나님의 영께서 나를 만드셨고, 전능자의 호흡이 나에게 생명을 주셨지요.
5.할 수 있거든, 당신도 내 말을 듣고 반박하십시오.
6.나나 당신이나 흙으로 만들어진 하나님의 피조물 아닙니까?
7.그러니 내가 당신을 두렵게 할 수도 없고, 내 손으로 당신을 누를 수도 없지요.
8.나는 당신이 하신 말씀을 잘 들었습니다.
9.당신은 주장했지요?
'나는 개끗하고 죄가 없다.
나는 순결하고 아무런 잘못이 없다.
10.그런데도 하나님은 나에게서 허물을 찾으시고 나를 마치 원수 대하듯 하신다'
고 말입니다.
11.또 '하나님께서 나를 차꼬에 채우시고, 내 모든 길을 살피신다' 고 말입니다.
12.그렇지만 들어 보십시오.
당신의 주장은 옳지 않습니다.
왜냐하면 하나님은 사람과 비교할 수 없이 위대하시기 때문이지요.
13.어찌하여 당신은 하나님께서 답변을 하지 않으신다고 불만을 터뜨리십니까?
14.하나님께서는 여러번 말씀히시지만 사람은 깨닫지 못합니다.
15.그분은 사람이 곤히 잠들었을 때, 밤중의 꿈이나 환상으로 말씀히시지요.
16.사람들의 귀를 살짝 여시고 말씀하셔서,
17.사람들이 그들의 마음을 돌이켜 교만하지 않도록 해 주십니다.
18.그분은 사람이 무덤에 빠지지 않도록 지키시고, 칼에 죽지 않도록 보호하십니다.
19.그분은 사람이 깨딷게 하시려고 뼈마디가 쑤시는 아픔과 고통을 주시기도 합니다.
20.그럴 땐 밥맛도 없고 진수성찬도 귀찮아지며,
21.몸은 수척해지고 숨어있던 뼈마디가 울퉁불퉁 튀어나오지요.
22.그럼 결국 무덤에 떨어지고 사망으로 달려가게 됩니다.
23.그 때, 그사람에게 천사가 도우러 와서 무엇을 해야 하는지 말할 것입니다.
24.그러면 하나님께서는 '그 사람ㅇ 무덤에 내려가지 않도럭 살려주어라.
내가 그 몸값을 벌써 받았다' 라고 하실 것입니다.
25.그러면 그 병든 사람의 살이 아기처럼 고아지고, 어렸을 때처럼 회복되지요.
26.그 사람이 하나님께 기도하면 하나님께서는 그 기도를 기쁘게 들으십니다.
그 사람의 마음은 정말로 하나님께 대한 감사로 가득 차게 되겠지요.
하나님께서 그 사람을 의롭게 회복시켜 주실 것입니다.
27.그러면 그 사람은 사람들 앞에서 찬양하면서, '나는 죄를 지었소. 부정한 짓을 저질렀지요. 그러나 내가 받아야 할 벌을 받지 않았습니다.
28.하나님은 나를 무덤에서 건져 주셨습니다.
그래서 저는 이제 이렇게 환한 세상을 봅니다' 라고 말할 것입니다.
29.하나님께서는 자주 사람들을 이렇게 다루시지요.
30.무덤에 내려 가던 사람을 다시 살리셔서, 생명이 약동하개 하십니다.
31.욥 어르신, 내 말에 귀를 기울이십시오.
계속 조용히 내 말을 들어 주십시오.
32.말하실 것이 있으면 대답해 보십시오.
그러면 내가 분명히 대답해 드리겠습니다.
33.그렇지 않다면, 내 말을 계속 들어 주십시오.
내가 지혜를 가르쳐 드리겠습니다."
1."But now, Job, listen to my words; pay attention to everything I say.
2.I am about to open my nouth;
my words are on the tip on my tongue.
3.My words come from an upright heart;
my lips sincerely speak what I know.
4.My Spirit of God has made me;
the breath of the Almighty gives me life.
5.Answer me then, if you can;
prepare yourself and confront me.
6.I am just like you before God;
I too have been taken from clay.
7.No fear of me should alarm you, now should my hand be heavy upon you.
8."But you have said in my hearing-
I heard the very words-
9.'I am pure and without sin;
I am clean and free from guilt.
10.Yet God had found fault with me;
he considers me his enemy.
11.He fastens my feet in shackles;
he keeps close watch on all my paths.'
12."But I tell you, in this you are not right,
for God is greater than man.
13.Why do you complain to him
that he answers none of man's words?
14.For God does speak- not one way, now another-
though man may not perceive it.
15.In a dream, in a vision of the night.
when deep sleep falls on men as they slumber in their beds,
16.he may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings.
17.to them man from wrongdoing and keep him from pride,
18.to preserve his soul from the pit,
his life from perishing by the sword.
19.Or a man may be chastened on a bed of pain with constant distress in his bones,
20.so that his very being finds food repulsive and his soul loathes the choicest meal.
21.His flesh wastes away to nothing,
and his bones, once hidden, now stick out.
22.His soul draws near to the pit,
and his life to the messengers of death.'
23.Yet if there is an angel on his side
as a mediator, one out of a thousand,
to tell a man what is right for him,
24.to be gracious to him and say,
'Spare him from going down to the pit;
I have found a ransom for him'-
25.then his flesh is renewed like a child's;
it is restored as in the days of his youth.
26.He prays to God and finds favor with him,
he sees God's face and shouts for joy;
he is restored by God to his righteous state.
27.Then he comes to me and says,
'I sinned, and perverted what was wight,
but I did not get what I deserved.
28.He redeemed my soul from going down to the pit,
and I will live to enjoy the light.'
29."God does all these things to a man-
twice, even three times-
30.to turn back his soul from the pit,
that the light of life my shine on him.
31."Pay attention, Job, and listen to me;
be silent, and I will speak.
32.If you have anything to say, answer me;
speak up, for I want you to be cleared.
33.But if not, then listen to me;
be silent, and I will teach you wisdom."
