1.The Lord said to Job:
2.Will the one who contends with the Almighty corret him?
Let him who accuses God answer him!"
3.Then Job answered the Lord:
4."I am unworthy- how can I reply to you?
I put my hand over my mouth.
5.I spoke once, but I have no answer- twice, but I will say no more."
6.Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm:
7."Brace yourself like a man;
I will question you,
and you shall answer me.
8."Would you discredit my justice?
Would you condemn me to justify yourself?
9.Do you have an arm like God's and can your voice thunder like his?
10.Then adorn yourself with glory and splendor,
and clothe yourself in honor and majesty.
11.Unleash the fury of your wrath,
look at every proud man and bring him low,
12.Look at every proud man and humble him,
crust the wicked wherer they stand.
13.Bury them all in the dust together;
should their faces in the grave.
14.Then I myself will admit to you
that your own right hand can save you.
15."Look at the behemoth,
which I made along with you and which feeds on grass like an ox.
16.What strength he as in his loins,
what stength he has in his loins,
what power in the muscles of his belly!
17.His tail sways like a cedar;
the siners of his thighs are close-knit.
18.His bones are tubes of bronze, his limbs like rods of iron.
19.He ranks first among the words of God,
yet his Maker can approach him with his sword.
20.The hills bring him their produce, and all the wild animals play nearby.
21.Under the lotus plants he lies,
hidden among the reeds in the marsh.
22.The lotuses conceal him in their shadow;
the poplars by the stream surround him.
23.When the river rages, he is not alarmed;
he is secure, though the Jordan should surge against his mouth.
24.Can anyone capture him by the eyes,
or trap him and pierce his nose?
1.여호와께서 욥에게 말씀하셨습니다.
2."너는 아직도 전능자와 논쟁하려 하는냐?
나, 하나님을 비난하는 사람은 대답하여라."
3.그러자 욥이 여호와께 대답했습니다.
4."저는 정말, 무가치한 사람입니다.
제가 무슨 대답을 하겠습니까?
단지 입을 가릴 뿐입니다.
5.나는 한 번 말을 했고 대답지 않겠습니다.
두 번 말했고, 더 이상 않겠습니다."
6.그 때 여호와께서 폭풍 가운데서 욥에게 대답하셨습니다.
7."너는 대장부처럼 허리를 동여매고, 묻는 말에 대답하여라.
8.네가 내 판단을 무시하여 자신을 옳게 여기고 나를 비난하느냐?
9.네가 하나님처럼 강하단 말이냐?
네 목소리가 천둥 같단 말이냐?
10.그렇다면 너는 이제 위엄과 탁월함으로 단장하고 영광과 위엄으로 옷을 입어라.
11.그리고 네 분노를 터트려 보아라.
거만한 자들을 모조리 낮추어 보아라.
12.교만한 자들을 찾아서 겸손하게 굴복시키고 악인들을
그자리에서 짓밞아 보아라.
13.그들을 모두 흙 속에 묻어,
저들의 얼굴을 무덤에 묻어라.
14.그렇게 하면. 나도 네 힘이 너를 구원할 수 있다고 인정하겠다.
15.저 하마를 한번 살펴보아라.
내가 너를 만들 때,
함께 만든 것이다.
그것은 황소처럼 풀을 먹는다.
16.그의 허리 힘이 얼마나 센지 보아라.
17.백향목처럼 꼬리를 치는 저 모습과 힘줄이 얽힌 저 허벅지 근육을 보아라.
18.그 뼈들은 청동관같이 단단하고,
갈비뼈는 무쇠 막대기 같구나.
19.그것은 내가 창조한 작품 중 가장 위험한 것이다.
그것을 만든 나도 칼을 가져야 그것에게 접근할 수 있다.
20.산들은 그것을 위해 식물을 만들어 내고,
모든 들짐승이 그 곁에서 뛰어논다.
21.그것이 연꽃 아애 누워 늪 속의 갈대 가운데 자기를 숨기면,
22.연꽃잎이 그것 위에 그늘을 드리우고,
강가 버드나무도 그를 둘러싼다.
23.강물이 차고 넘쳐도, 요단 강물이 넘쳐 흘러 자신을 삼키려 해도,
그것은 꿈쩍도 하지 않는다.
24.누가 감히 그것을 집겠으며,
끌고 가서 그 코를 꿸 수 있겠느냐?"
