1.여호와께 감사하십시오. 그분은 선하시며, 그분의 사랑은 영원하십니다.
2.여호와께 구원 받은 사람들이여, 이렇게 말하십시오. 여러분은 여호와께서 원수의 손으로부터 구원하시고,
3.모든 나라들 중에 부르시고, 동서남북으로부터 모은 사람들입니다.
4.어떤 사람들은 버려진 광야에서 헤매고 정착할 만한 마을을 찾지 못했습니다.
5.배고프고 목말랐으며 기운을 잃고 점점 약해졌습니다.
6.그때에 그들이 고통 가운데서 여호와께 부르짖었습니다. 그러자 그분은 그들을 구해 주셨습니다.
7.여호와는 그들을 바른 길로 인도하셨고, 그들이 정착하여 살 만한 곳으로 인도하셨습니다.
8.여호와의 변함없는 사랑에 대해 감사하십시오. 사람들을 위해 행하신 그분의 놀라운 일들에 대해 감사하십시오.
9.여호와는 목마른 자를 만족케 하시고 배고픈 자를 좋은 것들로 채우시는 분이십니다.
10.어떤 사람들은 어두움과 사망의 그늘 속에 앉아 있습니다.
쇠사슬에 매어 고통중에 있는 죄수들과 같았습니다.
11.이는 그들이 하나님의 말씀을 거역하고 가장 높으신 분의 가르침을 무시하였기 때문입니다.
12.여호와는 그들을 쓰라린 괴로움 속에 처넣으셨습니다. 그들이 넘어져도 돕는 사람이 아무도 없었습니다.
13.그때에 그들이 고통 중에 여호와께 부르짖었습니다. 그러자 여호와께서 그들을 고난 가운데서 구원하셨습니다.
14.여호와는 끝없는 어둠 속에서 그들을 이끌어 내시고, 그들의 쇠사슬을 끊으셨습니다.
15.여호와의 변함없는 사랑에 대해 감사하십시오. 사람들을 위해 행하신 그분의 놀라운 일들에 대해 갑사하십시오.
16.그분이 놋문을 부수고, 쇳빗장을 깨뜨리셨습니다.
17.어떤 사람들은 반항하다가 어리석은 자가 되었으며, 죄를 짓다가 어려움을 겪게 되었습니다.
18.그들은 모든 음식을 싫어하게 되었으며, 결국 죽음의 문턱 가까이에 가게 되었습니다.
19.그때에 그들이 괴로움 가운데서 여호와께 부르짖었습니다. 그러자 그분은 그들의 괴로움으로부터 그들을 구해 내셨습니다.
20.여호와께서 말씀을 보내어 그들을 치료하시고 무덤에서 그들을 건지셨습니다.
21.여호와의 변함없는 사랑에 대해 감사하십시오. 사람들을 위해 행하신 그분의 놀라운 일들에 대해 감사하십시오.
22.감사의 예물을 드리고 기쁨의 노래로 여호와께서 행하신 일들을 모든 사람들에게 전하십시오.
23.또 어떤 사람들은 배를 타고 바다로 나갔습니다. 그들은 큰 바다 위에서 장사하는 상인들이었습니다.
24.그들은 여호와께서 행하신 일들을 보았으며, 깊은 바다에서 행하신 주의 놀라운 일들을 보았습니다.
25.여호와께서 명령하시자, 폭풍우가 몰아쳤습니다. 높은 파도를 일으키는 폭풍우였습니다.
26.그들의 배가 높이 올랐다가 깊은 바닷속으로 내려갔습니다. 그들은 두려움으로 인하여 간담이 녹아내렸습니다.
27.그들은 술 취한 사람처럼 비틀거리고 흔들거렸으며, 어찌할 바를 몰라 하였습니다.
28.그때에 그들이 고통 중에 여호와께 부르짖었습니다. 이때도 주께서 그들을 구해 내셨습니다.
29.여호와께서 폭풍우에게 속삭이시고 풍랑을 잠재우셨습니다. 바다의 파도가 잠잠해진 것입니다.
30.바다가 잠잠해지자 그들이 즐거워했으며, 여호와께서 그들이 바라던 항구로 그들을 인도하셨습니다.
31.여호와의 변함없는 사랑에 대해 감사하십시오. 사람들을 위해 행하신 그분의 놀라운 일들에 대해 감사하십시오.
32.백성들의 모임중에서 주를 높이며, 장로들의 모임중에서 그분을 찬양하십시오.
33.여호와께서는 강을 광야가 되게 하셨으며 넘치는 샘을 마른 땅이 되게 하셨습니다.
34.과일 맺는 땅을 소금밭이 되게 하신 것은, 거기에 사는 사람들이 악하기 때문이었습니다.
35.여호와께서는 광애를 못이 되게 하셨고, 마른 땅을 샘으로 바꾸셨습니다.
36.여호와는 배고픈 자들을 인도하여 그곳에 살게 하시며, 그들이 살 만한 마을을 만드셨습니다.
37.그들은 들에 씨를 뿌리고, 포도원을 가꾸었습니다. 그리고 풍성한 포도 열매를 거둬들였습니다.
38.여호와께서는 그들을 축복하셨고, 그들의 자손을 많게 하셨으며, 그들의 가축이 줄지 않게 하셨습니다.
39.그러나 다시 압박과 재난과 고난으로 그들의 수효가 줄어들었습니다. 여호와께서 그들을 낮아지게 하셨습니다.
40.높은 자들을 부끄럽게 하신 여호와께서, 그들을 길 없는 광야에서 방황하게 하셨습니다.
41.그러나 여호와는 가난한 자들을 그들의 고통 가운데서 건지셨고 그들의 가족을 양 떼처럼 많게 하셨습니다.
42.정직한 사람들은 이것을 보고 기뻐하지만, 악한 사람들은 불만스럽게 입을 다불고 있습니다.
43.지혜 있는 사람들아, 이러한 일들에 귀를 귀울이며, 여호와의 크신 사랑을 생각하십시오.
1."Give thanks to the Lord, because he is good;
his love is eternal!"
2.Repeat these words in praise to the Lord,
all you whom he has saved.
He has rescued you from your enemies
3.and has brought you back from foreign countries,
from east and west, from north and south.
4.Some wandered in the trackless desert
and could not find their way to a city to live in.
5.They were hungry and thirsty and had given up all hope.
6.Then in their trouble they called to Lord,
and he saved them from the distress.
7.He led them by a straight road to a city where they could live.
8.They must thank the Lord for the constant love,
for the wonderful things he did for them.
9.He satisfies those who are thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.
10.Some were living in gloom and darkness,
prisoners suffering in chains.
11.because they had rebelled against the commands of Almighty God
and had rejected his instructions.
12.They were worn out from hard work;
they would fall down, and no one would help.
13.Then in their trouble they called to the Lord,
and he saved them from their distress.
14.He brought them out of their gloom and darkness and broke their chains in pieces.
15.They must thank the Lord for his constant love,
for the wonderful things he did for them.
16.He breaks down doors of bronze and smashes iron bars.
17.Some were fools, suffering because of their sins and because of their evil;
18.they could't stand the sight of food
and were close to death.
19.Then in their trouble they called to the Lord,
and he saved them from their distress.
20.He healed them with his command and saved them from the grave.
21.They must thank the Lord for his constant love,
for the wonderful things he did for them.
22.They must thank him with sacrifices, and with songs of joy must tell all that he has done.
23.Some sailed over the ocean in ships,
earning their living on the seas.
24.They saw what the Lord can do,
his wonderful acts on the seas.
25.He commanded, and a mighty wind began to blow
and stirred up the waves.
26.The ships were lifted high in the air
and plunged down into the depths.
In such danger the men lost their courage;
27.they stumbled and staggered like a drunks-
all their skill was useless.
28.Then in their trouble they called to the Lord,
and he saved them from their distress.
29.He calmed the raging storm,
and the waves became quiet.
30.They were glad because of the calm,
and he brought them safe to the port they wanted.
31.They must thank the Lord for his constant love,
for the wonderful things he did for them.
32.They must proclaim his greatness and praise him before the council of the leaders.
33.The Lord made rivers dry up completely and stopped springs from flowing.
34.He made rich soil become a salty wasteland.
because of the wickedness of thise who lived there.
35.He changed deserts into pools of water
and dry land onto flowing springs.
36.He let hungry people settle there,
and they built a city to live in.
37.They sowed the fields and planted grapevines
and reaped an abundant harvest.
38.He blessed his people, and they had many children;
he kept their herds of cattle from decreasing.
39.When God's people were defeated and humiliated by cruel oppression and suffering,
40he showed contempt for their oppressors
and made them wander in trackless deserts.
41.But he rescued the needy from their misery
and made their families increase like floks.
42.The righteous see this and are glad.
but all the wicked are put to silence.
43.May those who are wise think about these things;
may they consider the Lord's constant love.
